PTC has pledged its support for the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR), co-hosted by the Philippine government and the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR). The event, scheduled for October 14 to 18, 2024, in Manila, will focus on disaster risk reduction with the theme "Surge to 2030: Enhancing Ambition in Asia-Pacific to Accelerate Disaster Risk Reduction."

During the memorandum of agreement signing on September 3, 2024, DENR Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo Loyzaga and Mr. Marco Toscano-Rivalta, Chief of the UNDRR Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, led the event, underscoring the importance of strong partnerships in advancing disaster risk reduction in the region. Representing PTC were Ms. Denise Alampay, Sustainability Manager for Corporate Public Policy, Risks, and Sustainability at PTC Holdings, and Mr. Leslie Suntay, Head of Strategy at PTC Shipping.

Earlier, at the APMCDRR media launch on August 22, 2024, Mr. Hector Manuel Jon Brizuela, Program Manager of the PTC RISE Program, and Ms. Denise Alampay were in attendance. During the event, key government officials, including DND Secretary Gilbert "Gibo" Teodoro and Secretary Loyzaga, emphasized the urgency of stepping up disaster preparedness and risk reduction efforts to better protect communities from future disasters.

More than 2,500 participants from 62 countries are expected to attend the APMCDRR, providing an opportunity to share solutions, review progress, and build partnerships to accelerate disaster risk reduction by 2030.
