UN Global Compact Network Philippines visits First Maritime Place

FEBRUARY 28, 2024

Members of the Global Compact Network Philippines met with PHILCAMSAT's Capt. Pol Haboc and Philippine Transmarine Carriers (PTC) Holding's Sustainability Lead Denise Alampay to discuss the formation of the Ocean Stewardship Center. PTC will be the private sector lead for this new initiative together with ICTSI. Among those who visited FMP were Edward Gacusana, the newly appointed Executive Director of GCNP, and Eric Dan Reyes the Consultant for the study on Safety and Sustainability in PH Maritime.

Capt. Ronald Enrile and Hector Brizuela presented opportunities for collaboration with the GCNP and the Ocean Stewardship Coalition through Project RISE and the Circular Explorer while PHILCAMSAT's Rheena Sollorin led the group on a tour of PHILCAMSAT’s training facilities.

The PTC Group is an active member of the UN Global Compact and has been involved in collaborative work with the organization through the Maritime Just Transition peer learning group, the local chapter's Private Sector Champions - Planet Pillar, and now as the private sector lead for the Ocean Stewardship Center in the Philippines.
