Maritime Anti-Bribery and Corruption Seminar conducted at Mapúa-PTC College of Maritime Education and Training

On February 05, 2024, the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network conducted a 2-day Anti-Bribery and Corruption Seminar at the Mapúa-Philippine Transmarine Carriers (PTC) College of Maritime Education and Training which was held at Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna’s e-Global Classroom.

The seminar was conducted by MACN’s Mr. Mathias Bak, and covered various topics which focused on understanding corruption and its effects in the maritime industry. He also discussed how to prevent and reject corruption, and gave insights into international laws and conventions protecting seafarers against corruption.

PTC COO Beng Cristobal attended the event on the first day to observe and give her support, together with C/E Alfredo Haboc, Head of Education and Training and the QA and Program Director of PHILCAMSAT who gave the welcoming remarks.

The first two sessions were conducted by MACN and will be followed by a continuous learning session by Mapúa-PTC CMET’s Dean in order for all the year levels to have an understanding of the effects of corruption in the maritime industry.
