MARINA and PHILCAMSAT make waves with pilot run of Security Awareness Training

PHILCAMSAT, in partnership with MARINA, has embarked on another successful voyage, driven by perseverance and passion for maritime excellence.

On June 3-4, 2024, PHILCAMSAT led a triumphant pilot run of the Security Awareness Training and Seafarers with Designated Security Duties (SATSDSD) course, in compliance with STCW Regulation VI/6 paragraphs 2 & 5, Section A-VI/6, Table A-VI/6-1 and Table A-VI/6-2. This remarkable two-day training initiative was made possible through a robust collaboration between the Research and Development Division of the MARINA-STCW Office and PHILCAMSAT's Research and Development and Training Operations.

The involvement of four dedicated cadets, instructors, and trainees significantly enriched the program, showcasing their commitment to excellence in maritime education and training. This initiative aligns with the overarching goal of achieving full compliance with STCW regulations, underscoring a pivotal step forward in advancing industry standards and ensuring the proficiency of maritime professionals.
