UE Caloocan Mock Job Interview and Onsite Job Fair

UE Caloocan invited the PTC Group for a series of career-enhancing events designed to equip their students with vital job market skills. On May 13, 2024, UE Caloocan hosted a Mock Job Interview session, with Philippine Transmarine Carriers (PTC) Inc. representatives Ian Kevin Balete and Jo-ann Pearl Sabucor, HR Managers of the PTCI HR Shipping Cluster, and Josh McCarver, RISE Program Lead Program Officer of the Talent Acquisition Group (PTC-TAG). They shared their extensive knowledge and expertise, ensuring that students walked away with a deeper understanding of what employers are looking for and how to present themselves confidently in future job interviews.

The importance of mentorship and guidance during this critical period cannot be overstated; that's why for Ian, whenever he is asked and given an opportunity to help graduating students prepare for the corporate world, he says yes in a heartbeat. "Giving back to the youth is my way of honoring and thanking my mentors who did the same for me. And I hope that as I keep on paying it forward, this will have a ripple effect, and those whom I have helped will also pay it forward to inspire future generations," Ian said. The event saw enthusiastic participation from over 50 students who joined the online session, eager to gain insights and practical experience from industry professionals.

Following the success of the online event, the PTC-TAG team participated in UE Caloocan's Onsite Job Fair on May 14, 2024, with over 400 graduate students who were keen to explore career opportunities available with The PTC Group, network with other potential employers, and gain insights into various industries. The students were eager to learn and absorb as much knowledge as possible, making the job fair a rewarding experience for both the PTC-TAG team and the attendees. As the event came to a close with PTC TAG receiving over 200 applicants, the team encouraged the students to stay connected and explore more career opportunities with The PTC Group in the future. The positive feedback and genuine interest from the students reinforced the team's commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a supportive community of future PTC professionals.
