Building for tomorrow: PTC Group participates in Career Pathing Day at LCC Bacolod

The PTC Group had the honor of being the sole participant at La Consolacion College Bacolod’s (LCCB) Career Pathing Day on May 17. His full-day event revolved around the theme: “Building for Tomorrow: A Resilient Future.” Attendees included 3rd and 4th year students from various programs including BS in Hospitality Management, BSHM major in Culinary Arts, BS in Tourism Management, BSIT, BS in Psychology, BS in English Language Studies, BFA majors in Advertising Arts, Digital Media Arts, Industrial Design, BSBA majors in HR Management and Marketing Management, and Bachelor of Secondary Education.

Choosing a career is pivotal as it guides individuals in selecting the appropriate educational skills necessary to attain and excel in their chosen field. According to a director at Robert Walters, Philippines, career trends in 2024 emphasize the importance of environment, social responsibility, and governance. The invitation extended to PTC, facilitated through the PTC Talent Acquisition Group (TAG), is designed not only to assist LCCians in making informed and deliberate decisions about their career paths but to also develop a culture of safety through a Disaster Risk Reduction Training conducted by Hex Brizuela, Program Manager for the Pipeline Engagement Program (PEP) under the PTC TAG for freshmen and 3rd-year students which is an essential component for creating a safe, prepared, and resilient campus community.



Valuable experiences and knowledge were shared by representatives of the PTC group during the morning session with the following speakers and topics: Butch Reyes, Sales Manager of FAA discussed the importance of Preparation for the World of Work, highlighting key strategies and skills needed to successfully transition from education to a professional environment; Jaime Agub, HR Manager of Jebsen PTC reiterated the importance of Professionalism in the Workplace, emphasizing the behaviors, attitudes, and ethics required to thrive in a professional setting; Dennis del Mar, Lead Cabin Crew Instructor, PTC Aviation Training Center, provided valuable tips on How to Ace an Interview, sharing techniques and best practices to help students present themselves effectively and confidently during job interviews and Benjie Bautista of the PTC Talent Acquisition Group (TAG) shared meaningful insights on Designing Destiny: Leading the Next Generation of Future Global Professionals, inspiring students to take charge of their career paths and prepare to become leaders in the global workforce.

In the afternoon session, the talks focused on introducing the PTC Group and the wide range of job opportunities available for those interested in joining the organization. This was facilitated by Chino Hernandez, Support Officer of TAG who introduced the speakers starting with Ronald Macalintal, AVP of Crewing Operations who provided an overview of the Shipping Cluster followed by Jaime Agub who discussed the career paths available within Jebsen PTC, Butch Reyes covered the options and training programs offered by First Aviation Academy, where three female students later inquired on the possibilities of training at FAA, and Dennis del Mar who shared insights into the comprehensive training and job placement services provided by the PTC Aviation Training Center for aspiration flight attendants.

This full-day activity provided over 800 LCCian students with a clear understanding of the career possibilities within the PTC Group, equipping them with the knowledge and tips needed to make informed decisions about their professional futures whether they would opt to join the maritime industry, or become pilots or flight attendants.
