PTC representatives join GMA Pinoy TV Seafarers’ Family Day 2026

PTC Group representatives joined GMA Pinoy TV’s first-ever “Pinoys At Sea: Seafarers’ Family Day 2026” on September 19 at the Ruby Hall of Max’s Restaurant in Quezon City, in celebration of National Maritime Week and National Seafarers’ Day. The event brought together Filipino seafarers, their families, and members of the maritime community for a day celebrating the dedication of seafarers and the families who support them.

Representing PTC as panelists were Ms. Karen Avelino, PTC Executive Director of Business Development for Shipping and Senior Vice President of Cruise Operations; Ms. Normita Hernandez, PTC Family and Crew Relations Manager; and Mr. Mark Que, Behavioral Program Head of Philcamsat. Ms. Avelino shared her insights during “Sa Layag ng Kita: Smart Financial Planning for Seafarers and their Families,” a session on financial literacy and entrepreneurship, while Ms. Hernandez joined “Kahit Malayo, Malapit Pa Rin: Strengthening Parenting and Family Bonds Across Distance,” which focused on parenting and maintaining strong family relationships despite the challenges of life at sea. Mr. Que also shared his insights on life balance and mental health in the session “Okay Lang Magpahinga: Prioritizing Mental Health for Seafarers and their Families.”

The family day featured games and activities, raffle prizes, giveaways, and food, offering seafarers and their loved ones an opportunity to connect and create meaningful memories together. Several PTC GMPs, along with their families, were among the attendees of the event. The affair was hosted by news broadcasters Connie Sison and Susan Enriquez and featured entertainment numbers from Kapuso stars.

Through its participation, PTC continued to support conversations and initiatives that promote the well-being of Filipino seafarers and their families, both at sea and at home.
