La Consolacion College–Tanauan students gain industry exposure through PTC

On September 2, 2026, La Consolacion College – Tanauan, in partnership with the PTC Talent Acquisition Group (TAG), successfully conducted a Macro Exposure Spree for its 2nd-year Hospitality Management and Tourism students.

The program was designed to give students essential industry exposure and practical learning experiences in aviation and cruise operations. Students gained valuable insights into emerging trends, diverse career pathways, and the realities of working in these dynamic sectors, helping strengthen their readiness for future careers in hospitality and tourism.

The day began at First Maritime Place, where the students were warmly welcomed by John Paul Soto, Deputy Head of Cruise Industry Business and Head of Talent Acquisition and Recruitment Operations of Philippine Transmarine Carriers, Inc. (PTCI). He delivered an inspiring message that set the tone for the program. This was followed by a session from Jestine Theo Ducalas, Recruitment Officer of the PTC Cruise Division, who shared current insights and developments within the cruise industry.

The group then proceeded to the MSC Crewing Services Philippines Office in Parqal, Aseana City, and was welcomed by the MSCCS team led by Maita Pangilinan, General Manager, together with Emerlito Lorenzo, Recruitment Team Lead, and Joyce Quitan-Mendoza, Senior Recruitment Officer. The team introduced MSC Cruises, provided an overview of life onboard, and offered practical tips to help students prepare should they aspire to join a cruise vessel in the future.

The final stop was the PTC Aviation Training Center in Parañaque, where the students were received by Maria Carmina Abarico, Instructor, who provided an engaging tour of the facility, showcasing the state-of-the-art simulators and training equipment used to prepare future flight attendants. She emphasized the importance of hands-on training and the critical skills needed to excel in the aviation industry. The visit allowed participants to explore aspects of aviation training and operations, further broadening their understanding of career possibilities in the field.

Throughout the day, students were encouraged to ask questions and engage with industry professionals, making the experience both educational and inspiring. It also helped them connect their classroom learning with the practices and expectations of the industry, encouraging them to reflect on the career paths that may align with their interests and strengths.

More than a simple educational visit, the Macro Exposure Spree served as a vital bridge between academic learning and the professional world. Through the collaboration of PTC TAG and La Consolacion College – Tanauan, students gained direct exposure to real industry environments in hospitality, tourism, cruise, and aviation.

The experience not only deepened their knowledge but also inspired them to pursue meaningful careers in these fields, equipping them to approach future studies and career decisions with greater awareness, purpose, and confidence.
