PHILCAMSAT, through its BRIDGE Team, successfully conducted the Cadet Resilience Program (CRP-1), the first phase of the Cadet Resilience and Readiness Program, for PTC-CSJ Foundation 12 scholars currently enrolled at Mapúa-PTC College of Maritime Education and Training (CMET).
Held from July 27 to 30, 2026, at The MAST in Maragondon, Cavite, the four-day immersive program complemented the scholars’ technical and academic education by strengthening the behavioral competencies essential for success in the maritime industry.
Through experiential learning, facilitated workshops, reflective journaling, community huddle sessions, workplace immersion, and the program’s culminating Accountability Circle, CRP-1 focused on developing self-management and discipline, professionalism and accountability, resilience and adaptability, effective communication, and interpersonal awareness. These learning experiences encouraged scholars to cultivate the mindset, character, and habits expected of future maritime professionals while laying the foundation for Phase 2 – the Cadet Readiness Program (CRP-2) and the succeeding Cadet Bootcamp, where they will further strengthen their readiness for onboard responsibilities and shipboard life.
Recognizing that technical excellence alone is not enough to thrive in high-performance, team-based operational environments, the program emphasized behavioral formation as a critical component of maritime professional development. By fostering resilience, strengthening character, and promoting a culture of responsibility, collaboration, and continuous learning, CRP-1 prepares scholars to transition confidently from the classroom to the realities of shipboard operations.
The Cadet Resilience and Readiness Program reflects the shared commitment of PHILCAMSAT and the PTC-CSJ Foundation to developing well-rounded maritime professionals through an integrated approach to technical preparation, leadership, values formation, and personal development. Together, the two-phase program provides a structured developmental pathway that equips scholars with the character, resilience, and professional competencies needed to succeed in the maritime industry and to lead, adapt, and excel throughout their maritime careers.
The CRP-1 is part of the PTC-CSJ Foundation’s Nurturing Future Seafarers (NFS) – Batch 4 Project funded through the TK Foundation Fund of the Orange County Community Foundation.
