The Philippine Transmarine Carriers (PTC) RISE Team, in collaboration with PHILCAMSAT, successfully facilitated the RISE Disaster Preparedness and Response Training for its partner Local Government Units (LGUs) from February 6 to 10.
11 pilot participants from the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices (DRRMOs) from four pilot LGU partners were educated and capacitated on different Disaster Preparedness topics designed to help them better understand the nature of their professions. The training program kicked off with a virtual orientation last February 3 led by PHILCAMSAT representatives Ms. Cath Montoya and Mr. Karlo Andanar. This was followed by a five-day training series consisting of a three-day virtual lecture and two-day actual exercises in PHILCAMSAT’s multi-accredited training facility, The MAST, in Maragondon, Cavite.
The RISE Disaster Preparedness and Response Training is a collaboration between RISE Program and PHILCAMSAT and serves as a pilot training program for LGUs and their Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO).
