The PTC Group, through the PTC RISE Program and RSE Foundation Inc. (RSEFI), successfully facilitated a meeting with the Philippine Association of Maritime Institutions (PAMI) on August 4, 2026, to formalize partnerships on disaster resilience and sustainability programs for PAMI member Maritime Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
The PTC RISE Program was represented by PTC Talent Acquisition Group (PTC TAG) Program Manager Hector Brizuela and Lead Program Officer Josh P. McCarver, while RSEFI was represented by Executive Director Capt. Ronald Enrile and Resource Mobilization and Administration Manager Arlene Ramirez. PAMI was represented by its Vice Chairperson and President, Mr. Sabino Czar Manglicmot II, together with Office Administrator Christine Joy Perlas.
The meeting opened with a presentation on the PTC RISE Program for Safe Schools and its role in strengthening disaster resilience among Maritime HEIs. Hector Brizuela emphasized that the program promotes safety and preparedness in schools and communities. “Through the RISE Program for Safe Schools, the maritime industry’s culture of safety and readiness can extend to school communities and families. Strengthening disaster preparedness in schools helps educators and students apply these learnings at home for their safety and well-being.”
RSEFI then presented its resilience and sustainability programs that Maritime HEIs may implement on their campuses. Capt. Ronald Enrile highlighted Safe4Shores as a program closely aligned with the maritime industry. “RSE Foundation’s sustainability programs offer Maritime HEIs opportunities to partner on meaningful initiatives. Safe4Shores is well-suited for maritime colleges and universities, as mangrove cultivation supports carbon footprint reduction, helps protect coastal areas from storm surges, and may also promote ecotourism with support from local government units and maritime schools.”
PAMI Vice Chairperson and President Mr. Manglicmot expressed support for the PTC RISE Program and RSEFI’s disaster resilience and sustainability initiatives, noting their value in empowering PAMI members. “PAMI welcomes maritime industry partners that bring purpose and value to our members. The PTC RISE Program’s focus on disaster resilience is timely and relevant in empowering students, teachers, and staff to be more proactive against hazards and disasters. RSE Foundation’s sustainability programs also align with the agenda of maritime colleges and universities and provide a platform for responsible involvement.”
Through this partnership, the PTC RISE Program, RSE Foundation, and PAMI reaffirm their shared commitment to capacitating Maritime HEIs in disaster resilience and sustainability. Together, they aim to help build safer and more resilient school communities while advancing a more sustainable future for the maritime education sector.
