First Aviation Academy (FAA) celebrated a significant milestone on August 7, 2026, as it honored its graduating pilot trainees during its 5th Graduation Ceremony, marking the culmination of their rigorous academic and flight training journey and the beginning of their careers in aviation.
Held in the presence of distinguished leaders from the aviation industry, the ceremony brought together 22 graduates from 5 different countries, their families, instructors, FAA leadership, and industry partners to celebrate an important achievement in the lives of the newest members of the aviation profession.
The celebration began with a Thanksgiving Mass, offering the graduating class an opportunity to give thanks for the guidance, strength, and blessings that accompanied them throughout their training.
A Journey Defined by Discipline and Excellence
In his opening message, MGen. Restituto Padilla Jr., AFP (Ret.), President of First Aviation Academy, welcomed the graduating class and reflected on the discipline, perseverance, and commitment required to pursue a career in aviation.
Each graduate was called to the stage to receive their certificate, marking the formal recognition of their successful completion of FAA’s demanding training requirements. Beyond the certificates, the ceremony also recognized graduates who distinguished themselves through exceptional achievement.
The ceremony also featured messages from two distinguished leaders in Philippine aviation.
Capt. Antonio Salgado, Vice President for Operations of PAL Express, delivered the Guest Speaker’s Address, sharing insights and encouragement drawn from his experience in airline operations and the aviation industry.
The graduating class was likewise represented by Ma. Kathleen Sangalang Sy, who delivered the Words of Gratitude on behalf of her fellow graduates, expressing appreciation to their families, instructors, mentors, and the entire FAA community who supported them throughout their journey.
The keynote address was delivered by Lieutenant General Raul Del Rosario, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, who shared a message of leadership, responsibility, and the importance of professionalism in aviation.
For the graduates, the presence of the country’s aviation regulator and an airline operations leader served as a meaningful reminder that their training at FAA is only the beginning of their responsibility as future aviation professionals.
Taking Flight Beyond FAA
For the 22 graduates, August 7 marked more than the completion of a training program. It represented the culmination of years of preparation, countless hours in the classroom and cockpit, challenges overcome, and lessons that will remain with them throughout their careers.
As they leave First Aviation Academy and move toward the next chapter of their professional journey, they carry with them not only the knowledge and skills developed through training, but also the values that define a professional aviator: discipline, integrity, teamwork, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to safety.
