
De La Salle University-Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) formally strengthened its commitment to industry collaboration through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with First Aviation Academy, Inc. (FAA) on May 25, 2026. The ceremonial signing was held at the Boardroom of the Ayuntamiento de Gonzalez Building.
The agreement establishes a strategic partnership focused on implementing alternative on-the-job training programs in the aviation sector. Through this collaboration, students will gain access to specialized training opportunities designed to bridge academic learning with real-world industry demands.
Leading the ceremony were DLSU-D President Br. Iñigo Riola, FSC, and FAA President Major Gen. Restituto Padilla Jr. Also present were key administrators from both institutions who expressed their collective support for the partnership.
Representing DLSU-D were Dr. Twinkle Amparo, Vice Provost for Academics; Dr. Nor Cachuela, Vice President for Global Engagement and External Relations; Dr. Irene Gueco, Director of the Linkages and Scholarship Office; Dr. Grace Mejia, Chair of the Tourism Management Department; Dr. Jigs Medina, Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Communication; and Ms. Agnes Olarte, International Mobility Officer.
From First Aviation Academy and its partner organization, the Philippine Transmarine Carriers (PTC), attendees included Mr. Rodolfo Dino Z. Santos, General Manager of FAA; Mr. Richard Tanglao, Marketing Manager of FAA; Ms. Vivien Bautista, Talent Acquisition Manager of PTC; and Mr. Chino Hernandez, Talent Acquisition Officer of PTC.
During the ceremony, representatives from both institutions emphasized the critical role of industry partnerships in enhancing the employability of graduates. They highlighted how collaboration between academe and industry can provide students with meaningful internship experiences that go beyond classroom instruction, equipping them with the competencies required for long-term professional success.
