The PTC’s Talent Acquisition Group (TAG) was invited by one of its partner schools, Far Eastern University (FEU), for their HR Insights for Readiness and Employability Session last April 22, 2026, at the FEU Manila Main Auditorium.
Organized by the FEU Career Development and Placement Office, the focused session was designed to help FEU students build essential HR awareness, sharpen employability skills, and better understand what industries look for in today’s workforce. The session was attended by over 200 students from various disciplines, including Arts and Sciences, Health Sciences, and Hospitality Management.
Among the esteemed representatives from diverse sectors, James Paul Malejana, the Total Rewards and HR Manager of Philippine Transmarine Carriers Inc., represented The PTC Group. He shared valuable insights into the evolving landscape of human resources and highlighted the importance of adaptability in today’s job market. James stressed the critical role of soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, which complement technical expertise. He encouraged students to embrace continuous learning and seek growth opportunities across various fields.
A significant theme of the session was the discussion of current workplace realities, employer expectations, and the skills and mindset needed to succeed in today’s evolving labor market. These conversations provided students with a deeper and more realistic understanding of what lies ahead as they transition from academe to the professional world. James also addressed the role of AI in the workforce, emphasizing that individuals with clear mindsets and defined career goals will thrive despite technological advancements. This perspective reassures students that while AI may transform certain job functions, it will not replace the human drive and purpose essential for success.
