We are proud to announce that MGEN Restituto Padilla, Executive Director for Corporate Public Policy, Risks, and Sustainability, has been elected to be part of the Board of Trustees of the UN Global Compact Network Philippines (GCNP).
This appointment marks an important milestone in our ongoing commitment to responsible business and sustainable development. Since becoming a participant of the United Nations Global Compact in 2022, we have been actively engaged in initiatives that advance the organization’s mission of promoting sustainable and responsible corporate practices aligned with the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact.
Over the past several years, we have played an active role in GCNP programs and collaborations. Among these contributions, we have led discussions on Maritime Just Transition, a critical topic for the global shipping sector as it navigates decarbonization while protecting seafarer livelihoods and ensuring equitable industry transformation. PTC Holdings’ Denise Alampay also serves as the private sector co-lead of the GCNP’s Oceans Centre Philippines, helping convene stakeholders across industries to promote responsible ocean stewardship and sustainable maritime practices.
MGen Padilla will serve alongside a distinguished group of leaders from across Philippine industry who make up the GCNP Board of Trustees. The incoming board members include:

- Apple Evangelista, Head of Sustainability and Social Responsibility, Globe Telecom
- Sarah Bergado, Corporate Center Director for Sustainability, Manila Water Company
- Atty. Leo Lagon, Co-CEO and CFO, Bayo Manila
- Sharon Gulmatico, CEO, Morination Agricultural Products
The incoming board takes the helm at a critical moment for business and sustainability. As companies worldwide face increasing expectations to address environmental, social, and governance challenges, the role of the GCNP board goes beyond governance and oversight. Their leadership will be essential in supporting Philippine businesses in aligning their strategies and operations with the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, which cover human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption.
Through this leadership, GCNP aims to help bridge the gap between global ambition and local reality—ensuring that sustainability commitments translate into practical, measurable action within the Philippine business community.
