PTC Logistics has partnered with the Department of Health (DOH) and University Research Co. (URC) for the Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR-SIA), which will help improve vaccine delivery to communities across the Philippines, especially those in hard-to-reach areas.
Formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement signed on June 30, the partnership brings together DOH, University Research Co. (URC), and PTC Logistics to support improved vaccine availability, stronger cold chain integrity, and more efficient last-mile delivery, particularly in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDAs).
“We are proud to partner with URC and the Department of Health on this critical delivery initiative,” said PTC Logistics President and CEO Ike Castillo. “Our role is to ensure a swift, safe response by expanding our reach to deliver vital vaccines to the communities that need them most, while building more resilient and accessible supply chains.”
Under the pilot program, DOH has identified local government units for implementation, with support from its Disease Prevention and Control Bureau and Supply Chain and Management Services. PTC Logistics will provide cold chain transport for vaccines from point of origin to Rural Health Units, helping ensure that immunization supplies are properly maintained throughout the delivery process.
The solution will be deployed across Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and MIMAROPA. PTC Logistics will use its e-Combi solution, which converts existing dry vehicles into active cooling units capable of carrying chilled, frozen, and dry products in a single trip, making vaccine distribution more efficient and responsive.
Andres Borromeo, Business Development Head of PTC Logistics, demonstrated the e-Combi solution and presented the temperature-controlled units by Carnotfleet to Secretary Teodoro Herbosa and DOH personnel, showing how the technology helps preserve the quality and safety of vaccines and other temperature-sensitive health products in transit.
