Advancing people management and nation building: PMAP recognizes HR policy champions

At its 711th General Membership Meeting, the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) recognized two exemplary contributors to the country’s HR landscape: the Labor Policy Reforms and Industrial Relations Committee and its Chairperson, Adrian Perez, HR Business Partner for the PTC Shipping Cluster, each receiving a PMAP Presidential Award with Special Citation. These honors reflect PMAP’s long-standing mission to advance sound people management and human capital development and to prepare HR professionals to participate meaningfully in nation-building.

By spotlighting a policy-focused committee and its chairperson, PMAP is signaling the profession’s shift toward greater policy literacy, legal compliance, and proactive industrial relations. This committee leads the association’s perspectives on approaches that protect workers, reduce organizational risk, and align people strategies with national priorities.

For Philippine Transmarine Carriers Inc., the recognition is more than a trophy. It solidifies its aim toward creating business value — stable labor relations that protect stakeholder interests, stronger HR capability aimed at retaining talent, and puts focus on our shared goals to prioritize people, planet, and prosperity for our society. These awards celebrate the novel pursuit of reinforcing professional HR practice as it contributes to corporate resilience and nation-building.
